EAS -theory lessons
A new driver must complete the EAS theory lessons before taking the theory test. There are four theory lessons and they must be completed at the beginning of the driving practice before starting driving lessons. You can also purchase other teaching services and training materials from Autokoulu Eco driving school to help with teaching with a teaching permit (opetuslupa). EAS theory lessons are part of our B-passenger car courses.

You can start the course at the earliest at the age of 16.
What are EAS lessons
If you do not have a previous driving license in Finland, you must complete four EAS theory lessons before starting your driving practice and taking the theory test. EAS theory lessons are the traffic theory lessons for those who are taking their first driving license.
The theory lessons cover driving in traffic and traffic rules. There are four lessons and each lesson lasts 45 minutes. You can take the lessons at a driving school or in virtual lessons online. In Kivenlahti, Espoo, you can take the theory lessons at a driving school. In the online virtual class, you can take the lessons at a time that suits you. After completing the theory lessons, you will receive an EAS certificate from the driving school for the theory test. We also record the completed EAS course in the Webauto system so that Ajovarma staff can check that the course has been completed.
Buy EAS lessons online
You can purchase virtual lessons from Autokoulu Eco's online store without having to visit a driving school. Remember to also register for the course, click join the EAS theory lessons, so that we can receive your information for the certificate. By registering for the course, we can also send an invoice, so payment does not need to be made through the online store.
You can take theory lessons online and you don't have to go to a driving school. You can take theory lessons from Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 22:00. On Friday and Saturday from 08:00 to 16:00. If you wish, you can take each lesson on a different day. You will receive the instructions and information you need to register for the lesson from the driving school in your email. After completing all the lessons, you will receive a certificate from the driving school for completing the lessons.
To take the lessons virtually, you will need a computer, tablet or phone with at least a 5Mbit/s internet connection. You must have a webcam and a microphone. The teacher must have a continuous video connection to you. We need your personal security code and we will ask for it later, or you can provide it to us via WebAuto - kuljettajaopetus.fi/autokoulueco - by registering for EAS theory lessons.
Driving practice from a driving school
Driving lessons as a combination of a teaching permit and driving school are often an excellent option.
The teaching permit (opetuslupa) is applied from Traficom. The teaching permit requires the supervisor to have at least 5 years of driving experience, an impeccable driving record, and the driving training car must have brake pedal on passenger side that works.
