EcoLiteS The course is the most affordable of Autokoulu Eco's courses. Half of the driving lessons in the course are driven on a simulator and half in a real car. The course is a good option if you already have a previous driving license, for example for a motorcycle in Finland or driving license from other country for a passenger car.

EcoBasic The driving lessons in the course are mainly conducted in a real car. Driving lessons are offered on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The course is recommended if you have previous experience with cars or have a driving license for a moped or tractor in Finland or driving experience from other country with a car.

EcoPremium offers a comprehensive range of driving lessons, often sufficient even for an inexperienced new driver. You can get a driving lesson very flexibly, including on Saturdays.

EcoUltimate is our most comprehensive course and you also get a guarantee on the teaching. If you don't pass the first driving test, we offer free use of the car and one driving lesson for the second driving test. EcoUltimate is the best choice!

How is your study progressing

1. You will receive your WebAuto training IDs from the driving school or by email after you have paid the course start fee
2. It is advisable to apply for a driving license permit from the Traficom website right at the beginning of the driving school
3. Start by completing the DL e-Textbook assignments (you can find the DL e-Textbook in the WebAuto Course Materials)
4. You can take the theory lessons at the driving school or in the virtual classroom at WebAuto
5. You can start the driving lessons after you have taken the EAS theory lessons
6. The first driving lesson always takes place on a driving simulator and after that according to the course program
7. Practice for the theory test with the Ajokaista program and it is best to take the RTK theory lessons before the theory test
8. The driving school will book you a theory test at an Ajovarma location
9. You should take the remaining driving lessons before the driving test and when you are ready for the driving test, a driving instructor will book you a driving test
10. You will receive your driving license immediately after passing the driving test

You can drive with a B driving license.

A passenger car license (B driving license) allows you to drive a car or a vehicle combination with a maximum total mass of 3,500 kg. In addition to the driver, the car may carry a maximum of eight passengers, so the car can have a maximum of nine seats. In addition to passenger cars, a B license entitles you to drive vans, camper vans, mopeds, moped cars, tractor-trailers and light tractors.

A motorcycle always requires a motorcycle driving license. Some vans and pickup trucks can have a total mass of more than 3500kg, so a truck license is required in this case. A B license allows you to tow a trailer with a maximum total mass of 750kg. A heavier trailer may be towed if the total mass of the combination (car + trailer) does not exceed 3500kg.

Kuinka monta ajotuntia tarvitsen?

The appropriate amount of driving to get a driving license varies for everyone. The amount of driving practice is affected by your previous experience with cars and traffic. Most often, students need about 20 - 40 driving hours if there is no previous experience, but at Autokoulu Eco our students have also passed the driving test with a minimum of 14 hours. We offer additional driving lessons at a low cost. Listen to your driving instructor if he or she recommends additional practice before the driving test. For example, those who passed their driving license on the first attempt with co-educational training drove 35* driving hours before the driving test.

Is it worth practicing driving on slippery training in a car or on a simulator?

In Finland, driving conditions vary and are sometimes difficult. A driving simulator provides very basic information about driving on slippery surfaces, but on a driving practice track you get a better feel for how a car behaves on slippery surfaces. Before 2018, all students had to complete 3 hours of practice on a driving practice track.
Slippery driving practice on a simulator is included in the course price and can be done on a real car for an additional fee. Espoo does not have a driving practice track, but in the neighboring city of Vantaa it is possible to practice slippery driving safely on a real car on the UAR driving practice track.

How long does it take to complete a driving license?

Unfortunately, we cannot answer this question. Previously, the law required a minimum training period of one month, but today there is no minimum period specified. In practice, you can complete your driving license in less than a month, but normally it takes about 2-3 months and you can influence the duration of the driving school yourself. You must complete the training tasks and exams online.

Can I start driving lessons somewhere other than a driving school?

Yes, you can. With EcoPremium and EcoUltimate courses, you can start driving lessons flexibly in addition to Kivenlahti driving school, from Espoonlahti, Saunalahti, Kirkkonummi Masala and also from Kauklahti. With EcoLiteS and EcoBasic courses, you can purchase the service. Arrange the starting point of the driving lesson with the teacher at the driving school in advance.

What do I need to do before starting driving school?

You do not need to do anything before starting driving school. Applying for a driving license is simple. You can apply for a driving license on the Traficom website. If you do not have a sufficiently recent photo on your ID card or passport, you must submit 2 identical passport photos to the office processing driving license applications. In some situations, you will also need a doctor's certificate for your driving license application. When you come to the driving school, bring a photo ID with you.
